Rear curtain

Rear curtains are the part of the masking curtains located in the background of the stage.

Often made of black velvet or black stage fleece, rear curtains are used to hide elements behind the stage that could interfere with the show (window, wall, backstage, passage of off-stage actors or technicians, etc.). It can also be used, for example, to frame a backdrop or a cylorama.

TECHNICAL DATA

THEATRE CURTAINS : AZUR SCENIC CUSTOM REAR CURTAIN

WHAT MATERIAL FOR YOUR STAGE CURTAIN?

A rear curtain is traditionally made of black velvet.
We offer these curtains in flame-retardant cotton velvet or flame-retardant polyester velvet.

Looking for a more unusual stage curtain?
But we can also make you a more extravagant proscenium curtain (glitter velvet...) or even a fully customized one in a flame-retardant fabric (velvet or other textile) printed with your image.

Looking for a more economical curtain?
You don't have to choose velvet for a rear curtain! Azur Scenic also makes stage curtains in flame retardant stage fleece.

Feel free to browse our wide range of flame-retardant textiles!

WHICH OPENING FOR YOUR REAR TRAVELER CURTAIN?

Most rear curtains have a Greek opening, i.e. a lateral opening from the center to the sides of the stage.
This stage curtain is made in 2 parts, and mounted on a stage track.
Did you know that Azur Scenic offers turnkey solutions, as well as custom assembly and installation of manual or motorized stage tracks? Ask our technical teams for advice on choosing the products best suited to your stage space and budget!

You don't want a 2-piece rear curtain ?
No problem, we'll custom-make all your curtains to suit your configuration. A 1-panel curtain is also a classic. But we can also offer you a multi-panel curtain for perfect modulation of your stage space!

WHAT FINISHES FOR YOUR STAGE CURTAIN?

At Azur Scenic, made-to-measure stage curtains are our business!
So we make your curtains with the finishes best suited to your stage.
For a rear curtain, often installed under a track, the most classic top finish is a strap with eyelets and snap hooks. Is your curtain fixed and hung under a pole? We can offer a top finish with webbing, eyelets and knots, or sewn-on laces.
The sides of our stage curtains are often finished with hems and the bottom is embellished with a leaded hem (or weighted hem) for an aesthetic finish.
But since we make all our curtains to order, we can offer you all kinds of finishes: knots, grips, pockets for hanging poles or weighted poles...

What about the fullness of your curtain?
Most of the time, a rear curtain is made flat, i.e. without fullness. But if you want your rear curtain with pleats, no problem - we can make it.
