Borders

Borders (or stage borders) are short stage curtains used to conceal equipment (spotlights…) and scenery hidden above the stage.
They are therefore the guarantors of the show’s magic, and must be carefully sized, crafted and positioned on a stage!

Azur-Scenic offers custom-made borders for all types of venues: theaters, opera houses, concert halls, multi-purpose halls…

STAGE CURTAINS : MADE-TO-MEASURE AZUR SCENIC BORDER

WHAT MATERIAL FOR YOUR BORDERS?

A border is usually made of velvet or flame-retardant black fleece.
It can be made from the same material and in the same color as the legs.
We offer this type of stage curtain in a range of textiles in flame-retardant cotton or FR polyester.

Feel free to browse our wide range of flame-retardant textiles!

WHAT FINISHES FOR YOUR BORDERS?

At Azur Scenic, we make all your stage curtains to measure!
We're here to advise you on the finishes best suited to your stage.
Whether flat or pleated, borders are usually hung from fixed or mobile poles.

The most popular top finish for border is therefore an attachment via knots. These knots can be sewn onto a strap or attached through eyelets.
Borders with fullness often have a low finish with a hem incorporating a flexible leaded braid.
Flat borders can be finished at the bottom with a sheath for inserting a small weighting pole to keep them taut.

HOW MANY BORDERS FOR YOUR STAGE?

Borders are generally positioned at the same level as legs. So you'll have as many borders as pairs of legs.
However, this is not an absolute rule! Our teams can advise you on the number of borders you need, depending on the layout of your stage.

Did you know?
The border positioned above the proscenium curtain is called "Teaser" or "Main valance".
